Tearing Track with F430 Scuderia-based Lancia Stratos

The compact, mid-engine designed, 1971 Lancia concept was designed after the Ferrari Dino 246. It had a 2.4-liter V6, 5-speed transmission, independent suspension, rack and pinion steering, and four wheel disc brakes.
For 2011, a new and improved, modern version of the Lancia Stratos is ready to unleash itself upon the track. Instead of the old Dino 246 specifications, the new car is based off the chassis of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
The Lancia now boasts a 540 horsepower, 4.3-liter V-8, which also dishes out 400 ft-lbs of torque. The resulting mix gives this legend a new-found performance edge of 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds, and 0-124 mph in just 9.7 seconds.
The builders have put together a video paying tribute to some old footage of the Lancia Stratos in action, before introducing their new Scuderia-based version tearing up a modern track. It would appear the Lancia has only grown better with age!
